Submit your project for the 2027 National STEM Festival — UK Edition.

It is still a good idea to have your project materials ready before you begin.
Have these ready:
- Your project information and written responses
- Your Project PDF — PDF only, maximum 3 pages and 5 MB
- Your Project Video file — MP4 or MOV, maximum 2 minutes and 500 MB
- An optional Project Video viewing link, if you also host your video online
- Parent or legal guardian contact information if you are under 18
Your uploaded Project Video file becomes EXPLR’s Competition copy. A YouTube or other viewing link does not need to be downloadable.
Once submitted, your project submission cannot be edited, replaced or resubmitted except where EXPLR specifically requests a correction.
How selection works
Phase 1
Judges review your written project information and Project PDF using a blind-review process.
Identity, contact details, reserved profile materials and Opportunity Bonus information are not shown to Phase 1 judges.
Phase 2
If you become a Finalist, authorised judges may review your original application, project materials and submitted Project Video.
There is no second project submission between Phase 1 and Phase 2.
If selected as a National STEM Champion
National STEM Champion is a public-facing, in-person role.
The 2027 National STEM Festival UK Edition is scheduled to take place in London from 5–10 May 2027.
Champions are expected to attend in person and substantially participate in the required Festival programme.
Applicants under 18 must attend with a parent or legal guardian as described in the Official Rules & Terms.
The application collects your Project Video file and reserved profile materials now so that students and families do not have to provide the same information again during the short Finalist and Champion selection timetable.
These materials are not made public simply because you apply or become a Finalist.
Broader public use becomes relevant only if you are officially selected as a National STEM Champion and the required Champion Participation Commitment has been made.
Ready to apply?
First, enter your date of birth.
You must be at least 13 years old on the day you submit your application and no more than 19 years old on 22 November 2026.
We check your age before the application loads. If you are eligible to continue, your date of birth is passed into the application so you do not need to enter it again.
